Saturday, April 2 - Teatown Reservation in Ossining

Come on this easy two hour hike to one of the finest nature centers in Westchester.  We will be hiking on wooded trails and will also do the two miles around Teatown Lake.  Call Doris Bosworth at 914-277-3269 for meeting time and place.  [RETURN TO SCHEDULE]

Saturday, April 2  - Putnam County: Fahnestock East

Using current trails, abandoned trails and the occasional bushwhack, the leader will approach Stillwater lake from the north, view Clearwater Lake from above and the join the Appalachian Trail from the southeast. An all-day circular hike in the eastern part of Clarence Fahnestock Memorial Park. Joint with Knickerbocker / Mohican. Rain will cancel and snow will change the route. Sunday, April 3  - Blue Mountain Reservation in Peekskill

Sunday, April 3  - Black Rock Forest

Saturday, April 9  - Catskills Hike #22 Long Path

Saturday, April 9  - Lambs Hill and Bald Hill

This was on the January schedule but got rained out so we’ll try again.  This hike involves a scenic climb at a moderate pace to the Wilkinson Memorial Trail and a loop on the Fishkill Ridge or Scofield Ridge – about 7 miles. Meet at the trailhead at 9:15 AM just off Route 9 (Albany Post Road) north of Route 301. Bad weather cancels. Sunday, April 10  - Devil’s Den in Weston,Ct.

Sunday, April 10 - Catskill Mts. – Kaaterskill High Peak

This is a fun mountain to climb with great views from ledges near the summit. There are some steep, rocky sections. Most of the hike is on trails, but we may do a short bushwhack between trails. Total distance is about 8 miles, elevation gain approx. 1750'. Heavy or steady rain cancels. Call leader for more information and to register no later than Saturday, April 9, 12 noon. Saturday, April 16  - Anthony’s Nose and Camp Smith Trail

Saturday, April 16  - Ramapo Dunderberg Trail – End to End

Join us for this 21-mile hike through Harriman Park from Rte 9W to Rte 17 with a considerable amount of elevation gain.  Because of the distance to be covered, the pace will be reasonably fast and steady. Participants must be willing to help set up the shuttle. Sunday, April 17  - Kettletown Town Park in CT

Sunday, April 24  - Westchester Wilderness in Pound Ridge

If you haven’t done this hike in a while, come join us as they just keep making this hiking area larger and larger. Saturday, April 30  - Canoeing/Kayaking on Chodikee Lake in Highland, NY

First paddling trip of the Spring? Come join us for about 5 or 6 miles of lake and stream paddling. There are meandering streams at both ends of the lake providing plenty of wildlife habitat, with acres of dead and dying trees, extensive wooded swamps and stands of cat tails and other marsh vegetation.  Canoes can be rented for $60.00 at the Hudson Valley Pack and Paddle in Beacon on 9D, one mile south off Rt. 84.  Telephone (845-896­3829).  There may be space in leader’s canoe. Directions :  New York State Thruway to Exit 18 at New Paltz and Route 299 east for a few miles to Chodikee Lake Road.  We’ll meet at 10:00 at the Mall. Saturday, April 30  - Pine Mountain in Ridgefield,Ct.

Saturday, April 30  - From 301 to Round Hill and into Fahnestock

Starting on an old woods road that will lead us, hopefully, to the top of Round Hill, the leader will string together a series of trails and bushwhacks that explore the Hubbard-Perkins Preserve.  About 8 or 9 miles.
