Directions to Trailhead Parking for NY/NJ State Parks/State Forests

The AMC stores directions to trailhead parking in the following yahoo group: Click on the following link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amcmaps/. Select the “Links” option at the left of the screen which brings you into Google maps. A listing of all the parks in the NY/NJ area will appear. You can then click on the park for directions. Example:  click on Harriman/Bear Mountain. Click on the trailhead parking you are looking for—example:  Skannatati.  A pop-up screen will appear. Where it says “Get Directions”, click on the To Here and then put your address in and click on “Go”. The directions and route will then appear.

There's a new feature on ADKs main chapter web site called the "ADK Hiking Page" which provides access to a wealth of information about hiking in the Adirondacks. Click here for more info.

As a member of the NY/NJ Trail Conference, you can help them earn some extra money by choosing the right search engine and online shopping location.

GoodSearch, powered by Yahoo, will donate one cent for every internet search you make through the search engine.

GoodShop, a subsidiary of GoodSearch, will donate an average of 3% (but it can go as high as 20%) of your total purchase from one of their listed stores.

GoodShop and GoodSearch don't cost anything--all the money will go straight to them. Make sure to choose New York - New Jersey Trail Conference as the "Who Do You GoodSearch/GoodShop For?"  or otherwise the money won't be directed to the Trail Conference.

With every click and online purchase, you can directly influence their work!
